My role
What I built
Built the core transaction flows and ledger system with idempotency, audit trails, and error handling designed for cross border payment reliability.
Delivered secure onboarding and a full KYC/AML pipeline, including screening and transaction monitoring integrations, designed from the start to satisfy both UK and Ghanaian regulatory requirements.
Took the product from MVP to beta by owning product requirements and delivery across payments, savings, and early investment features. Led user discovery in Ghana, translating high risk corridor constraints into compliant user experiences. Prioritized partner integrations and go to market milestones.
Set up CI/CD and monitoring, launched the first closed beta with a small cross functional team.
The product was later sunset.

Lessons
Starting as the engineer who writes the ledger and ending as the product owner who shapes the roadmap showed me that the best product leaders understand what’s under the hood.
In a high risk corridor like UK to Ghana, compliance is not a blocker. It’s the product. Embedding AML and risk requirements from day one saved us from rework later.
